Sugar Is Highly Addictive

Sugar that sweet stuff that so many find so hard to live without. It’s no wonder that many people can’t quit or cut down sugar given that it is highly addictive.

Sugar is devoid of nutrients, it is just empty calories that spike your insulin levels, stresses your liver, uses up antioxidants and minerals, causes inflammation and harms your gut. Sugar doesn’t just rot your teeth it makes your body decay too. No wonder its called “white poison”.

Sugar Addiction Is Real

Sugar is as addictive as cocaine so no wonder it is hard to give up and why you may be craving it and finding it challenging to give those sweet treats a miss.

Refined sugar was almost nonexistent in the diet of most people until very recently. Today, the over-consumption of sugar not only contributes to but drives the current obesity epidemic.

However, controlling your insulin levels and blood sugars is one of the most important things you can do to optimise your overall health, and avoiding sugar is essential to doing this.

Reducing your sugar intake should be on the top of your list, regardless of whether you’re currently overweight or not. Why? Because it’s been proven that sugar increases insulin levels, which can lead to:

  • High blood pressure and high cholesterol
  • Heart disease
  • Diabetes
  • Weight gain
  • Premature ageing, and more
