If one of your teeth is knocked out
Let’s hope this never happens to you but if you do get a tooth to get knocked out when playing a contact sport or in an accident, it pays to know what to do in case of a dental emergency.
Knocked-out tooth? Then follow these steps.
Yes it’s a dental emergency but:
Stay calm, and try to find the tooth.
Wash it very gently in either milk or a salty saline solution. Don’t scrub it and try not to hold it by the root end, the bit that would be up in your gum.
Try to put the tooth back in its socket.
Check your other teeth to see which way to face the tooth, then push it firmly back into place.
If that isn’t possible, keep the tooth in milk or a slaty saline solution or even in your mouth against the cheek.
